How Solace works on a boat, at the dock and in salt air.
Do I need Wi‑Fi at my dock?
No. Solace 4G runs on cellular wherever there’s coverage. If your dock has 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, Solace Wi‑Fi is also an option.
Does it need shore power or wiring?
No. The built-in solar panel charges the battery during the day, so it keeps running through the night. A full charge gives 5–7 days of backup with no sun.
Will it survive salt water?
Yes. Solace is IP66 waterproof and salt-air resistant, built for life on the water.
Solace 4G or Solace Wi‑Fi: which one do I need?
Choose 4G on the Solace product page if you want it to work anywhere with cell signal. Choose Wi‑Fi if your dock has reliable 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi. Same solar camera, different connection.
How does it mount?
Clamp it to a bow rail, stern rail or T-top, strap it to a post or piling, or screw it to a hardtop or arch. No wires to run.
What does it alert me about?
AI human detection only alerts you when a person is aboard, not when a gull lands. Draw a geofence around your boat in the app so dock traffic stays quiet, then use the siren or two-way talk to deter intruders.
Solace 4G is $229, plus AquaVue Connect at $24.99/mo. Wire-free, solar powered, no contract. Have a promo code? Add it at checkout.
